These sticks are turned from select hickory, which is a dense wood with little flex for a more pronounced sound. They are able to withstand a great deal of shock making them highly durable. The tips on the American Classic are deeply back-cut for intensified cymbal response. Nylon tips are also available which are the most durable and brightest sounding on cymbals.
