Is it possible to silence drums?
Yes it is possible to silence drums. There are 2 methods; the first being mesh heads. These are drum haeds that are made from mesh and replace the existing heads, because they are made from mesh they do not make any sound when struck. This however does not silence the cymbals! The other method and probably the most popular method is silencer pads. These are circular discs that sit on top of the drumhead and mute the drum. They are also available to put on top of cymbals. They do not silence the kit completely but reduce the noise by about 80%.
